A Big, Fat Lovefest

The trifecta of happiness. Rain, books, popcorn. I’m blaming that on today’s effusion of love for random smattering of things I love right now.

I am just about to sit down to browse through Ree Drummond’s new cookbook Food From My Frontier. Most people know who Ree is by now, but every once in a while I come across someone who hasn’t heard of her and I am more than prepared to gush.

Four words. Birthday Cake Batter Popcorn.

You are welcome. I’m not sure I have much more to add beyond that. Besides, I’m too busy eating shoveling it into my mouth.

Oh, and make extra. You’ll thank me later.

I love having a bathroom downstairs again. Moose and I keep forgetting and go all the way upstairs. It’s, dare I say, exciting! This project was a long time coming! And, although I haven’t posted on all the finishing touches yet (I’m so far behind on blogging people, you don’t even know), I love the mirror we got! I love HomeGoods too. One more for the list.

I’m probably preaching to the choir, but I love Kelle Hampton‘s blog Enjoying the Small Things. Regardless if I’m having a good day or a bad day, it makes my day even better. I read a lot of blogs; my RSS feed runneth over. There are a handful of blogs I check regularly, but many sit in my Google Reader account until I have a free evening to peruse them all. But not Kelle’s blog.  She’s the kind of person who loses her headband in a tree trying to take a picture of a sunset – I love it. And her running playlist (available at the bottom) is pretty great too.

(She also recently published her first book, Bloom. I’m looking forward to reading it!)

I won’t lie. In this house, Hootie and the Blowfish make their musical appearance pretty regularly. I (still) love Hootie.

In case you didn’t see me blabbing about it on Twitter, last weekend we went to the “Own the Night” tour starring Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker (aka modern-day Hootie) and Thompson Square. I may or may not have held my hands up in a giant “H” and yelled Hootie 14 or 17 times.

And Lady A is pretty cool too. (Not that Thompson Square isn’t, but we only caught the last half of their last song.)

All right, that cookbook is really calling my name now.

Happy Friday!

What do YOU love?

Cute pic of you & your little girl! I think I may be trying that Birthday Cake Batter Popcorn next week for my 41 year old daughter’s birthday. I don’t think you are ever too old for fun-stuff!
    Happy Mother’s Day!

    • Sorry to be confusing! That’s actually a picture of Kelle Hampton (whose blog I was talking about). I probably should have put a caption!

But YES, definitely make the popcorn!
